Willie Spencer Sr.
Born and raised in the fields of Hardeman County, TN, Willie Spencer Sr. is a living legacy and one who is known for having a caring, loving and God-fearing spirit. He is also a devoted family man being married to his loving wife and best friend, Dixie, for over 50 years, raised four children and extends his love to two sons-in-law, 11 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of brothers and sisters of whom all share the same sentiment of love towards him.
He is a 1971 graduate of Lane College, member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., worked at Proctor & Gamble for 30 years and retired as an HR professional. After retirement, he decided that he wasn’t ready to stop working, especially for his community. So he dabbled a bit in politics and became the first African American Mayor of Hardeman County for two consecutive terms.
If anyone knows Willie, he is a man of God above all and lives to serve Him. He is truly a living testimony.
